LAKEVILLE, PA - Caesars Pocono Resorts today announced disco legends The Village People will perform live at Cove Haven Resort on October 22nd. The performance will be part of the resort's three-day disco weekend.
The festivities will begin Friday, October 20th with deejay Dr. J playing disco favorites in the resort’s nightclub. Saturday will include daytime disco dance lessons, entertainment with a disco band and a disco-themed costume contest. Sunday’s events will start at 8:00 p.m. Special guest opener Judy Torres will start the show and will be followed by the main act, The Village People. After the show, local radio favorites from Sunny 105 will wrap up the night with a disco-themed dance contest.
An immediate phenomenon when they began performing in 1977, The Village People are often considered one of the most influential groups of the disco era. With hits like Macho Man, YMCA, In The Navy and Go West, the six-man ensemble has sold more than 65 million recordings and appeared in multiple movies, television shows, on the cover of Rolling Stone and in the Guinness Book of Hits.
